“It’s going to be a good game”- Ex-Chelsea defender bullish about Nigeria’s chances against South Africa

The Super Eagles will take on South Africa on Wednesday, and Aina is pumped up ahead of the game

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has stated that he is looking forward to the game against South Africa in the semifinal of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles will be looking to clinch a final ticket when they play South Africa at the Stade de la Paix on Wednesday. So far, both teams have been decent, but Nigeria are slight favourites because of their quality on paper.

Nigeria have had a deep rivalry with South Africa since the 90s and with the recent banter between both countries after South African artists Tyla beat Davido and Burna Boy to the Grammys.

Ahead of the fixture, Nigeria defender Aina has stated that he is looking forward to playing against South Africa.

“Myself, I’m very excited, it’s going to be a good game between two teams, and I think myself and the team are ready for this challenge,” Aina said per Soccernet.ng.

The winner of the tie will take on the winner of the game between Ivory Coast and DR Congo for a chance to play in the final on February 11.
