Transfer: Out of favour Nottingham Forest striker could team up with Cyriel Dessers at Rangers

Emmanuel Dennis hit the Cristiano Ronaldo Siuuu celebration after scoring against Real Madrid on Nigeria’s independence day back in 2019.

Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Emmanuel Dennis, has been linked with a move to join his fellow national compatriot, Cyriel Dessers in Rangers, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dennis, 26, joined Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022, after his former side, Watford were from the English Premier League in the 2021/2022 season.

He was a regular in the first season under Steve Cooper but in twenty-five appearances for the Reds, scored just two goals.

At the start of the new season after the signing of Chris Wood and Divock Origi, the Nigerian forward fell down the pecking order. With Taiwo Awoniyi in fine form, Dennis went on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir.

His move to the Turkish club hasn’t turned out well either, as he has yet to score or assist a goal in eight appearances and could have his loan cut short in the current transfer window.

As per reports from Rangers News, Rangers boss, Philippe Clement is interested in the services of the former Club Brugge striker and Nottingham could demand up to £20 million for the services of the Nigerian striker.

The pair worked together during their time together in the Belgian Pro League where Dennis famously hit the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration at the Santiago Bernabeu after scoring against Real Madrid.

Rangers already have Fabio Silva and Cyriel Dessers as options up-front, and the Scottish Champions are set to stray into the market to improve their side. After their last game, their coach was full of praise for Emmanuel Dennis.

“You never know in advance which players will explode, Dennis is someone who is unpredictable, even for the opponent,” the coach said after Rangers’ 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

Emmanuel Dennis was included in Jose Peseiro’s 40-man provisional squad list but didn’t make the final 25-man cut.
