Bright Osayi-Samuel made his debut for the Super Eagles on November 18th, 2022, playing ninety minutes against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
Super Eagles and Fernabache right-back, Bright Samuel-Osayi, has been linked with a return move to England, with Leeds United keen on his services, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osayi, 26, spent his entire footballing career in England before moving abroad in the winter of 2021, switching to 19-time Turkish champions, Fernabache.
In twenty-four games for the Sarı Kanaryalar this term, the Nigerian full-back has scored two goals and created another two, and has been included in Jose Peseiro’s final AFCON squad list that will be heading to Ivory Coast.
The former QPR man is versatile and can play any position across the right flank. Since joining Fernabache, he has been featured at right-back, right wing-back and as a right-winger.
According to Motleeds News, several Premier League clubs like Wolves and Crystal Palace are interested in the services of the 26-year-old, but Daniel Farke’s Leeds United are said to be leading the race.
The report stated that the Turkish side are open to parting ways with Osayi, provided the clubs interested can pay a fee around the range of ten million euros.
For a lot of Leeds fans, the interest comes as a surprise as The Whites have a plethora of gifted attackers on their cards, and they have helped the club to a play-off spot so far this season, as they aim to return to the English Premier League.
Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, Daniel James, Jaidon Anthony, Ian Poveda, Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe have all featured in attack at Elland Road this season, but Daniel Farke is keen on bringing Osayi to the club.
Osayi kicks off the AFCON tournament with the Super Eagles as they take on Equatorial Guinea at the Stade Allasane Ouattara on the 14th of January in Ivory Coast.
