Pounded yam or Ogbono? Super Eagles defender reveals his favourite Nigerian dish

Ola Aina featured for eighty-three minutes as the Super Eagles of Nigeria played a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in the Group A AFCON clash on Sunday.

Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest full-back, Olaoluwa Aina has revealed his favourite Nigerian dish, Soccernet.ng reports.

Aina, 27, has been ever present for Nottingham Forest this season, scoring one goal and creating another in fourteen appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

The versatile full-back was born in England, and featured for the youth side of the Three Lions before opting to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, making his debut in May 2017.

Currently on international duty with Nigeria in Ivory Coast, Soccernet.ng caught up with the former Chelsea player, as he disclosed his favourite Nigerian dish.

“I’d say Poundo and Egusi, it’s really nice. I’ve had it since when I was younger and I’ve been doing this all my life. If not that, I’ll say Eba, the yellow one, and Ogbono,” the ambi-pedal defender revealed.

Quizzed about where he feels Nigeria can do better against Ivory Coast following their disappointing draw against Equatorial Guinea, Aina said:

“We have to keep up with the game and create chances. We said amongst ourselves that we have to be more clinical and put the ball in the net.”

Nigeria will lock horns with The Elephants of Ivory Coast on Thursday in what is poised to be a scintillating clash at the result of the game could decide the fate of the group.
