The Super Eagles will be looking to claim a fourth title in Ivory Coast, and they will begin their quest on Sunday
Retired Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has backed Nigeria to do well at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moses was one of the best on the continent during the 2013 AFCON. He played a vital role in the competition to help the Super Eagles claim a third title in South Africa.
This year, the Super Eagles will be looking to win a fourth crown in Ivory Coast. Coach Jose Peseiro has some of the best legs on the continent at his disposal, as the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Terem Moffi and a host of other stars are firing on all cylinders.
Ahead of Nigeria’s opening game on Sunday, Moses, who won the Premier League with Chelsea, has sent a message to the Super Eagles.
“Good luck to the guys for the AFCON! I have amazing memories from previous tournaments, and I know you can create more history this year. We are all behind you,” Moses wrote on X.
After their game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, Nigeria face Ivory Coast four days later in what is expected to be a cracker. Then, they will square off against Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
