Transfer: Three Serie A clubs interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Boniface

Victor Boniface came off the bench to score Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s fourth goal of the game against VFl Bochum to retain top spot in the league.

Super Eagles and Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker, Victor Okoh Boniface, is the centre of interest from three Serie A clubs, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old joined Leverkusen in July in a twenty-two million euro deal from Belgian side, Union Saint-Gilloise, and has won the Bundesliga rookie of the month award four times.

The Nigerian striker has been involved in twenty-two games for Die Werkself, with a return of fifteen goals and eight assists, helping Xabi Alonso’s men to an unbeaten Hinrunde as they lead a title charge against record Champions, Bayern Munich.

According to Italian outlet, Tutto Mercato, three Serie A clubs are eyeing a summer move for the Leverkusen striker after just six months into life in Germany.

Napoli, A.C. Milan and Juventus are the three clubs eyeing the Super Eagles striker. Victor Osimhen is reportedly close to signing a new deal with Napoli, but with an official announcement yet to be made, the club are eyeing Boniface as a potential replacement.

Milan are also looking to replace the ageing Olivier Giroud and with Dusan Vlahovic keen on leaving the Allianz Arena in Turin, Massimiliano Allegri also has his sights on Boniface, and the Nigerian will cost the interest parties about €40m to secure his services.

Jose Peseiro included Boniface in his provisional 40-man squad for the AFCON tournament and will want the Leverkusen striker in his squad to travel to Ivory Coast as he’s the Nigerian player with most goal involvements this season.
