Super six Zee! Barcelona star Oshoala wins CAF

Barcelona star, Asisat Oshoala, had five titles, but she added one more to her kitty at the 2023 Confederation of African Football Award.

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has won the Confederation of African Football Player of The Year Award for the sixth time in the last eight years, Soccernet.ng reports.

Oshoala has being the best player from the continent in the last nine years. She has won the CAF Best Player the most in the last ten years.

She had yet another outstanding campaign with Barcelona last season, as she won the Champions League and the La Liga.

Last season, she scored 27 goals in 40 appearances for Barcelona. Oshoala also had a remarkable record of one goal every 76 minutes.

The 29-year-old striker also had a decent campaign with the Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, helping Nigeria to the round of 16.

Following her super year, she earned nominations for the CAF Player of the Year alongside South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana and Zambian Barbara Banda.

The former Arsenal Women star was clearly head and shoulders above the other nominees, and she eventually claimed the crown in Marrakech.

Her win extends her record of five awards to six. She won the CAF Women’s POTY in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022, making the win in Marrakech her sixth.
