Wilfred Ndidi played fifty-six minutes before he was subbed off by Enzo Maresca in a scintillating top-of-the-table clash between Leicester City and Ipswich Town.
Leicester City are eyeing a 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder as a possible replacement for Wilfred Ndidi in case there are no contract resolutions between the club and the player, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ndidi, 27, has been an integral member of the Leicester City midfield since he joined the club from Genk in 2017, playing over 250 games for the club in that period.
However, the midfielder’s contract runs out next summer and talks over a new deal with the club are yet to surface, blowing the window of transfer speculations wide open.
Ndidi has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium, with Barcelona, Galatasaray, Sevilla and in recent times, Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on the Nigerian. In five days, the player will be able to enter into pre-contract clubs with other clubs.
According to Caught Offside, Leicester are eyeing Royal Antwerp midfielder, Pierre Dwomoh, to replace the Super Eagles midfielder, should a renewal fail to materialize..
Dwomoh, 19, is a Belgian defensive midfielder, of Ghanaian descent and has featured twenty-one times for RWDM this season, scoring two goals and providing an assist, on loan from his parent club, Royal Antwerp.
He’s considered to be a possible replacement for Ndidi, with a price tag is rumoured to be in the range of €5million, which the Championship team should be able to afford.
Ndidi has featured in every Leicester City game he’s been fit to play this season and has set sights on a return to the Topflight with the Foxes, as they’re currently six points clear at the top of the summit.
