Lookman produces brilliant performance to help Atalanta claim big win over Salernitana

Ademola Lookman has been superb for Atalanta this season, and he continued with his brilliance against Salernitana

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman nicked an assist for Atalanta in their 4-1 victory over Salernitana on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Atalanta welcomed bottom-placed Salernitana took to the Gewiss Stadium on Monday for their 16th Serie A clash of the season. Last time out in the Italian top-flight, Atalanta claimed a big 3-2 win over AC Milan, and they were looking to continue that run at home against Salernitana.

It was a poor start for Atalanta, as Salernitana jumped in front in the first ten minutes after a goal from Lucas Pirola. The visitors saw out their lead in the first half, but the game changed in the second half.

Luis Muriel scored the equalizer for La Dea in the 47th minute. Then, Mario Pasalic scored the second in the 52nd minute off an assist from Lookman. The Nigerian forward received a ball from the right of Inter Milan’s attack inside the box, and he just laid it off to Pasalic, who took a one-time shot and scored to make it 2-1.

Two more goals from Charles De Ketelaete and Aleksey Miranchuk sealed the victory for La Dea.

Meanwhile, Lookman had a very good game. He had four goal attempts, 63 touches, and a 71 percent pass accuracy in his 85 minutes of action. The former Leicester City man now has six goals and three assists this season.
