Victor Osimhen’s time in Napoli is increasingly looking like it is coming to an end after talks to tie him down to a new contract in Naples have stalled.
North London side, Tottenham Hotspur, are set to rival fellow London side, Chelsea, in a bid to bring Victor Osimhen to the English Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2025, meaning if Napoli refuses to sell him or renew his contract, he risks leaving for free when his contract expires.
Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of the Super Eagles striker and wants more attacking options to build a strong competition up front for the Blues.
Osimhen scored twenty-six goals for Napoli last term, helping them to their first league win in over three decades, and his exploits have seen him linked with several European top clubs and even Saudi clubs.
According to Spurs Web, Tottenham are considering a move for the ex-Lille man, as they’re looking to fill the void Harry Kane left after the Englishman moved to Bayern last Summer.
The publication revealed that Ivan Toney is a more likely option for Ange Postecoglu’s side as a winter move might be on the cards for him, and considering his suspension will be over soon, they have their eyes locked on the Brentford man.
Should a winter move refuse to materialize for Toney, Tottenham will turn their attention to Osimhen, but the cost of the transfer might be a huge factor for Daniel Levy as Napoli are unwilling to go below the hundred million mark.
