Leicester City are currently top of the Sky Bet Championships after a bright start since Enzo Maresca took over at King Power Stadium in July.
Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi, has picked interest from Arsenal’s North-London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, and Europa League giants, Sevilla, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Leicester City midfielder joined the club from Belgium side, Genk, during the winter transfer window in 2017, and immediately became a regular for the Foxes, and has played over two hundred and fifty games to date.
The club relegated last term, and Enzo Maresca took over the reins at Leicester and employed the 26-year-old in a new midfield role, and the midfielder has blossomed so far in the Sky Bet Championships.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and with his contract expiring next summer, the Nigerian is free to enter into talks with clubs starting from the first day of next year.
According to the Daily Express, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the services of the 54-time capped Super Eagle. The proposed move would reunite the player with former teammate James Maddison.
In the past, Ndidi was strongly linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United after The Foxes were relegated from the English top flight the clubs in question were desperately in need of midfield reinforcements.
Elsewhere, according to Vamos Sevilla, seven-time UEFA Europa League winners, Sevilla are also interested in the services of the 1.83m tall midfielder.
Sevilla’s sports director, Víctor Orta, has admitted to watching the contract situation of the Nigerian closely ahead of a possible move to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in June 2024.
This season, he has scored three goals and copped four assists in fifteen matches. Twelve of those games have been in the league, and the remaining three games have been in the Carabao Cup.
