Nigerian forward Victor Boniface moved from Royale Union SG to join Bayer Leverkusen during the 2023 summer transfer window
Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface, has praised Ivory Coast striker Simon Adringa in a brief but expressive statement following Adringa’s goal against Ajax FC, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian international took to his Instagram story to share a video of Adringa scoring a goal against Ajax FC, securing a 2-0 victory for manager De Zerbi’s team.
In his reaction on his instagram page, Boniface—who has recently earned another international call-up from the Super Eagles 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe—referred to Adringa as a ‘star boy,’ acknowledging the Ivorian forward’s impressive performance on the field.
Recalling their time together at Royale Union SG, where both players wore the same colours under the guidance of Karel Geraerts, it’s noteworthy that Adringa moved to Brighton from Nordsjaelland in 2022 and was later loaned to Royale Union SG in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Boniface, following his impressive performance during the 2022-23 season campaign, made a move from Union SG to Bayer Leverkusen.
Both players have continued to excel in their respective clubs, with Adringa gaining more minutes with Brighton and Boniface earning recognition in the German Bundesliga, recently winning Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month awards.
