Photo: Enyimba’s wanted Chibuike spotted in Israel training with another club

Chibuike Nwaiwu joined defending Nigerian Professional Football League Champions, Enyimba F.C. from Heartland F.C. in September 2022.

One of the players of nine-time Nigerian Professional Football League winners, Enyimba F.C. was pictured training in Israel after he was declared wanted by the club, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chibuike Nwaiwu joined the club last year after joining from Heartland, and the 20-year-old defensive midfielder has been a regular since joining the Aba side.

Three days ago, Enyimba’s media manager, Mr David Orji, released an official statement that declared the player wanted, after he was charged to have absconded from team duties.

New pictures of Nwaiwu have surfaced, with the player training with a new club outside the shores of Africa, sparking wild questions amongst fans and media personalities on social media.

In the statement released by Enyimba, the club reinstated that Nwaiwu is a genuine member of the team because he is still under a legally binding contract and has not been released or involved in negotiations to join another club.

On the flip side, the club the defensive midfielder currently has training sessions with is undisclosed, hinting that he might be on trial ahead of a possible move away from Finidi George’s side.

Enyimba were knocked out of the maiden African Football League quarter-finals by Morrocan side, Wydad Casablanca, losing both legs, but pocketed a million dollars in compensation for reaching that stage of the tournament.
