The former Eredivisie champions have claimed back-to-back wins for the first time this season, with the 28-year-old Super Eagles hopeful playing a key role in the run
Ajax Amsterdam striker Chuba Akpom has described the past few days as a perfect week after scoring in consecutive goals for the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
Akpom joined Ajax from Middlesbrough in the summer but has found it hard to settle at the Eredivisie giants.
However, after going five games without a goal, Akpom opened his Ajax account on Thursday as he came off the bench to fire the struggling Amsterdammers to a fine 2-0 win over FC Volendam.
Three days later, the former Arsenal star spent only 17 minutes on the pitch, but that was all he needed to bag a spectacular brace and guide Ajax to a convincing 4-1 victory over SC Heerenveen.
Taking to his Twitter account after the encounter, the 28-year-old forward described the passage of time as the “perfect week”.

Akpom, who finished as the best player in the English Championship last season, has also shed more light on why he has not come close to showing his best form for Ajax.
The Super Eagles-eligible striker revealed he felt abandoned by the club in his first few weeks in Amsterdam and that it played a part in his low output.
“It was very tough,” Akpom told ESPN, as per Voetbal Primeur.
“I tried to present myself professionally. But in a different country, a different environment and a different team, in a hotel, it was really difficult.
“It feels like I was left alone for the first two months. A lot has happened recently; we were not the normal Ajax. But with two victories in a row, there is confidence again, and things can only get better.”

Akpom has only been named in the Ajax starting lineup once – in the 3-1 defeat at FC Twente.
He will hope to be a starter again when Ajax face Brighton & Hove on matchday four of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
He needs to be invited to SE for trials, probably he could be an asset.
Actually Nathan Tells would be an asset because age is on side.
