“Onuachu can win the Super Lig Golden Boot”- Former Super Eagles striker

Onuachu just moved to Turkey during the summer, but he has taken to the league like fish to water

Eleven-cap Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has tipped Paul Onuachu can win the Super Lig Golden Boot if he continues with his rich form, Soccernet reports.

After three successful seasons with Genk, Onuachu moved to Southampton in January. However, the Super Eagles star failed to make an impression at the club as they were struggling to stay afloat in the Premier League.

Onuachu had no goal contribution for the Saints in 12 appearances. And with his place on the team hanging in the balance, the 29-year-old striker moved to Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

Since his transfer to the former Turkish champions, Onuachu has been superb, registering six goals and one assist in eight appearances. He currently sits 6th on the goalscorers’ chart, four goals behind Edin Dzeko.

Former Nigeria striker Eneramo, who played in the Super Lig for top clubs like Sivasspor, Besiktas, and Istanbul Basaksehir, has been impressed with Onuachu’s performances. He is of the opinion that the former Genk man can win the Golden Boot.

“Trabzonspor’s forward Paul Onuachu is a great striker and very good. Onuachu is also a fast striker and can score goals from every angle,” Eneramo said per Kuzey Ekspres.

“He has great potential, I believe he can be top scorer if he continues with his current form.”

Onuachu will be desperate to make a big impression this season to move to a bigger club. Also, he has lost his place in the national team, but if he continues with his form,  he could win an invite.
