Bayer 04 Leverkusen duo, Nathan Tella and Victor Boniface were included in Jose Peseiro’s squad list for the November International Break.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker, Victor Okoh Boniface, has retained praise for new Super Eagles call-up, Nathan Tella, and is confident the winger can come up with the goods for Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.
Tella sent a come get me message to the NFF a few months ago, and following his impressive display in the German Bundesliga was included in Peseiro’s squad to face Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
His club counterpart, Boniface, was filled with praise for the tricky winger and highlighted the need for the player to have a solid relationship with Nigerian fans.
“He’s a good guy, a great player, and a fantastic player. I’ve been speaking to him since he joined Leverkusen and even before the national team call-up came and I told him he needs to relate with the fans. I told him he did well last season and if he’s quiet, nobody will see him, so he has to relate with them,” Boniface told OmaSports TV.
The 22-year-old forward has won the Rookie of the Month award three times since joining Die Werkself and is confident Tella’s expertise will be of great addition to the National Team.
“I’m really happy for him because he got the invitation and is a different type of player than other wingers. He’s more direct and I think he will bring some good stuff to the national team,” the ex-Union Saint-Gilloise man added.
The Super Eagles will take on Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium this evening in a bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
