Awaziem nominated for POTM in Portugal

Awaziem was brilliant in October, and he has been recognised for his exploits

Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has been nominated for the Player of the Month award at Portuguese top-flight side Boavista, Soccernet reports.

The 26-year-old defender has made nine appearances for Boavista in the league this season. In October, he made three appearances for the Portuguese side. Although Boavista won only one of those games, Awaziem was impressive.

In his last game against Sporting, in which Boavista lost 2-0, per Sofascore, Awaziem had a rating of 6.7. The former Porto man also registered three clearances, three interceptions, and two tackles. He also had 64 touches and won four of his six duels. In the game against Moreirense, Awaziem had a rating of 6.9 after registering six clearances, one tackle, and 70 touches.

The Nigerian star was impressive last month, and he has been nominated for the Player of The Month Award.

He has been nominated alongside midfielder Sebastian Perez and striker Robert Bozenik. The winner will be decided by a voting process.

Boavista currently sit in sixth place on the Portugal Liga table with 15 points after nine games. They play Rio Ave at the Vila do Conde this weekend, and Awaziem would be looking to churn out another top performance.
