Michelle Alozie gained more prominence for her impressive performance during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

Houston Dash secured a 2-0 victory over Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), thanks to a stellar performance by Nigerian international Michelle Alozie, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Falcons defender, who has been in excellent form this season, continue to impress as she netted both goals for her team.

In the first half, Alozie broke the deadlock in stoppage time, capitalizing on a brilliant assist from Nichelle Prince. She confidently found the back of the net, giving Houston Dash the lead.

Alozie continued to impress in the second half, scoring her second goal of the match. This time, she showcased her skill with a fantastic strike following a clearance by forward María Sanchez. Alozie cleverly slotted the ball past the Gotham FC goalkeeper, Amanda Haught, who was caught off her line.

Alozie’s outstanding performance has been a highlight of Houston Dash’s season, helping the team secure valuable points. With this win, Houston Dash climbed to seventh place in the NWSL table, amassing 26 points.

The team still has an opportunity to secure a top-six finish, guaranteeing them a spot in the Final series playoffs.

Currently, they are just two points behind sixth-placed OL Reign and will be closely following the upcoming match between Angel City and Orlando Pride, which could impact their playoff hopes.
