Spanish giants Real Madrid have turned their attention away from Victor Osimhen and towards Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, Soccernet.ng reports.
Following the departure of Karim Benzema from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, Real Madrid have become lightweight in attack.
Real Madrid were among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Osimhen from Napoli, but the Nigerian striker decided to remain in Naples.
Jude Bellingham and Joselu have been carrying the goalscoring burden for Madrid since the season started, with the English lad contributing more than half of the club’s goals this term.
Bellingham has contributed 13 goals (10 goals, 3 assists) as Madrid have registered 24 goals combined in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
While Real Madrid remain keen on welcoming Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe next year, Los Blancos want to keep their attacking options open in the transfer market.
And according to a report from GSP, Real Madrid have included Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface and Stuttgart ace Serhou Guirassy in their transfer wishlist.
Boniface has been the revelation of the season in Germany, with the Super Eagles striker delivering one excellent performance after another.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise attacker has claimed back-to-back Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards for August and September, and he looks poised to repeat the same feat for the Player of the Month as well.
The report suggests that Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso is in line to become the next Real Madrid manager when Carlo Ancelotti leaves.
And Alonso, who has brought the best out of Boniface at Leverkusen, is tipped to take the Super Eagles striker to the Santiago Bernabeu with him.
Boniface partnered Osimhen in the Super Eagles attack as Nigeria were forced to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia in an international friendly on Friday evening.
