“They were the last team to beat Argentina” – Jose Peseiro confident Saudi Arabia is a good test for the Super Eagles

After renewing his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, Jose Peseiro will be in charge of the Super Eagles at AFCON 2024.

Super Eagles coach, Jose Vitor Peseiro has maintained that his team’s friendly against Saudi Arabia will be a good test for them, Soccernet.ng reports.

Both teams will face each other tomorrow evening to kick their International break fixtures off, with the Super Eagles playing against the Mambas of Mozambique a few days later.

The Al-Suqour Al-Khodhur of Saudi Arabia were the last team to beat World Champions, Argentina and that was during the World Cup in Qatar, catapulting the Albiceleste into eventual victory.

Speaking ahead of Nigeria’s game against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia, Coach Peseiro maintained respect for Roberto Mancini’s side.

“They are a good opposition. They were the last team to beat Argentina, and I hope it will be a good match for our team. Hopefully, we will be on the front foot during the game, then, we can talk about the match against Mozambique,” the 63-year-old mentioned in his pre-match conference.

The Portuguese manager also clarified that despite the fixture being a friendly game, he wants his team to take on the test by securing a win.

“We want to beat Saudi Arabia and Mozambique in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers because Nigeria must play the next World Cup.”

Nigeria will take on Saudi Arabia tomorrow by 5:00 PM W.A.T, with Olorunleke Ojo and Adeleye Adebayo expected to join the camp in Portugal tomorrow.
