The Gent star has a big chance of making his full debut for the Super Eagles, but he may have to wait a while
Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha has been ruled out of Gent’s UEFA Conference League game against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday because of an injury, Soccernet reports.
Torunarigha has been one of the dependable players for Gent since the beginning of the season. The 26-year-old has played all six of their Jupiler League Pro games.
Also, he has been a regular in the UEFA Conference League, featuring in all their qualifying games and their first group game against Zorya.
However, he will not be part of Gent’s second Conference League game because he has been omitted from the squad that will take on Maccabi Tel Aviv at Ghelamco Arena on Thursday.
According to a tweet by the club, the Nigerian defender is suffering from an injury, albeit the type of injury was not stated.
This comes after Torunarigha was included in the Super Eagles’ 25-man list for their friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique slated for later this month.
With this development, he may not be available for the two games. However, he might just be suffering from a knock, as he played all 90 minutes in Gent’s last game against RWD Molenbeek.
