Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been nominated for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month Award for September, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface won the prestigious honour in August after an excellent first month in the German top flight.
The Nigerian forward scored three goals and added two assists to beat RB Leipzig youngster Xavi Simmons and SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu to the award.
Boniface’s brilliance also saw him named the Bundesliga Player of the Month in August, outshining Bayern Munich striker and fellow new arrival to Germany, Harry Kane.
The Super Eagles striker has not removed his foot off the pedal as he has been excellent in September.
The 22-year-old forward netted another four goals and contributed an assist to put himself back in the running for the Rookie of the Month award.
Boniface’s netted a brace and added an assist as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Darmstadt on September 2. The former Union Saint-Gilloise striker delivered an impressive display as Bayer Leverkusen forced Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena.
Boniface smashed in another brace as Leverkusen outclassed FC Heidenheim 4-1 on September 24.
Boniface will once again be the favourite to win the award, but he faces tough competition from RB Leipzig’s exciting youngster Xavi Simmons and TSG Hoffenheim ace Maximilian Beier.
