Onuachu ‘very upset’ as ex-Man United star Nani claims victory for Adana Demispor over Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu has been impressive for Trabzonspor since joining from Southampton on a season-long loan

Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu expressed disappointment with Trabzonspor’s style of play following their loss to Adana Demispor in the Turkish Super Lig, Soccernet.ng reports.

Trabzonspor, also known as the Black Sea Storm, had hoped to build on their victory over Pendikspor but came up empty-handed in their match against the Adana-based club.

Reports from Turkish media outlet Fotomac revealed that the Nigerian international questioned Trabzonspor’s approach during the game, suggesting that they could have played a more offensive style.

Trabzonspor had more goal attempts than Demispor, with 18 shots compared to Demispor’s 13. However, only three of Trabzonspor’s attempts were on target, and none found the back of the net.

Former Manchester United star Luis Nani scored the only goal of the match, capitalizing on a deflection from Trabzonspor’s defense to give the home side the lead in the 29th minute.

Onuachu, despite his impressive recent form with three goals and an assist in his last four domestic league appearances, couldn’t rescue his team from the loss which made Trabzonspor suffer their fourth defeat of the 2023-24 season campaign.

The Burgundy Blues will be eager to bounce back from this setback when they host Alanyaspor in 15 days’ time. Onuachu, who won’t be featuring in the Super Eagles’ matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, will use this time to prepare for the next tie.
