Not November? Injury expert predicts when West Brom’s Josh Maja will return

Josh Maja picked up a knock during West Brom’s tie against Bristol City and he is scheduled to be back to the club by November

Injury expert, Dr. Rajpal Brar, has conducted an analysis of Josh Maja’s injury and suggests that the West Bromwich Albion forward may be out of action for a longer period than initially anticipated, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian attacker, was forced to withdraw from the squad after sustaining an injury during a 0-0 draw against Bristol City and was subsequently seen wearing a protective boot.

West Brom’s head coach, Carlos Corberan, stated that the team would evaluate the 24-year-old’s injury with early indications suggesting an ankle injury for the one-capped Nigerian international.

Maja’s absence has left Corberan with limited options for the centre-forward role. However, according to Brar’s latest prediction, the forward may be sidelined for an extended period.

“The protective boot with a foot injury can range from the physio staff being cautious to it indicating a more serious setback,” explains Dr. Brar. “Foot injuries can evolve quickly and be difficult to diagnose early on, so a boot is oftentimes used just as a precautionary measure. In terms of best and worst-case scenarios, there’s just too many to give without knowing more about the injury and how it happened. However, it does not look likely he’ll be back until the end of November.”

West Brom’s upcoming fixtures include home matches against QPR, Coventry, Hull, Ipswich Town, and Southampton, making Maja’s absence a significant loss.

While the club’s initial report suggests he will return after the international break at the end of November, there has been no official update regarding an extended absence.
