Napoli remains a strong opponent without Osimhen- AC Milan boss Pioli

AC Milan Manager, Stefano Pioli, has acknowledged Napoli’s strength as they prepare to face the Serie A champions, even in the absence of their star striker, Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Rossoneri are set to clash with Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday, and Osimhen will be missing in action due to a thigh injury he suffered while on international duty with the Super Eagles.

The Italian boss, speaking ahead of the much-anticipated clash, acknowledged the pressure faced by Rudi Garcia at the moment, but revealed the French manager is an excellent coach.

Pioli further emphasised that, despite the unavailability of the Super Eagles’ talisman, Napoli remains a formidable opponent.

“I said that we shouldn’t think about yesterday, and you go back to years ago… Garcia is an excellent coach. He had some difficulties, as is normal for a new coach, but now he is on the right path. He misses Osimhen, but it’s also true that last season, without Osimhen, they had great results and only lost against us. He is a top-level coach,” Pioli commented.

Osimhen has been in impressive form, scoring six goals in eight appearances across all competitions for Napoli. Despite his absence, Napoli continues to pose a significant challenge for AC Milan as they prepare for their upcoming showdown.
