Mourinho and his boys: AS Roma boss reacts as Drogba, Mikel Obi and Kalou link up

The three African players were one of the key players under the guidance of Jose Mourinho during his time as Chelsea’s manager

Former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has recently left a humorous remark on John Obi-Mikel’s Instagram post after linking up with his former Chelsea teammates, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Nigeria international earlier shared photos of a heartwarming reunion with his ex-teammates, Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou, ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw in Ivory Coast.

These three football icons had enjoyed their prime together during their Chelsea days, primarily under the tutelage of the now-AS Roma manager.

Mikel Obi, expressing his delight at seeing his former teammates at their country home, was spotted sharing some laughable moments with the Ivorian football stars, which caught the attention of their manager, Mourinho, and could only wish them a wonderful holiday together.

“Daddy is missing!!!! You rich guys can enjoy holiday time.” the former Real Madrid boss reacted to Obi’s post on IG.

Mourinho’s collective achievements with Drogba, Mikel, and Kalou include FA Cup and Premier League victories, which also made the tactician one of Chelsea’s greatest-ever managers.

The reunion between Drogba and Obi-Mikel extended beyond a mere social gathering. They were reunited at the Parc des Expositions d’Abidjan in Abidjan, where they contributed to the proceedings of the AFCON 2023 draw.

The draw results have set up an exciting clash between their respective national teams, Ivory Coast and Nigeria, in Group A during the tournament next year.
