Victor Osimhen has turned out to be a formidable striker who has poised threats on many opponent’s defence

Germany and Real Madrid defender, Antonio Rudiger, has taken a moment reflect on the thrilling battle he engaged in with Victor Osimhen during Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League,Soccernet.ng reports.

The Neapolitan, in their bid to take charge of the UCL Group C hosted Real Madrid at the Diego Maradona stadium on Tuesday, but the dramatic showdown did not go well as they lost 3-2 to Carlos Ancellotti’s men.

Napoli initially seized the lead through Leo Ostigard’s goal in the 19th minute, only for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior to level the score, handing the home fans eight minutes to celebrate their lead.

Jude Bellingham’s sensational solo run granted the visitors the lead, but Piotr Zielinski’s penalty ensured the game remained deadlocked.

Real Madrid ultimately secured a valuable victory when an own goal by Napoli’s Alex Meret sealed the victory for the La Liga club.

Meanwhile, while Madrid’s attack was busy mounting pressure on their opponents, it was another day in the office for Rudiger who was having an intense clash with Super Eagles talisman in the defence.

In this battle, the former Chelsea defender emerged triumphant, effectively containing the Nigerian striker and preventing him from finding the net.

After the game, Rudiger expressed his thoughts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, reflecting on the pressure he faced defending against Victor Osimhen.

“What an intense fight 🔥⚔️🦁 #Hustle #AlwaysBelieve #HalaMadrid #UCL.” he wrote.

Following Real Madrid’s victory, they lead Group C with 6 points, with Napoli trailing closely behind with 3 points.
