Ahmed Musa, Babajide, Enyeama, and more applaud Onome Ebi’s return to NWFL

Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi, has recently penned a deal with Nigeria Women’s Football League side, Naija Ratels

Nigerian football stars, including Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, have shown their support for Onome Ebi’s return to the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) as she joins Naija Ratels, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Abuja-based club secured the signing of the Super Falcons star as they prepare for the 2023-24 season campaign.

Ebi announced her move on social media and received congratulations from former Leicester star Musa, former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Super Falcons players Rinsola Babajide and Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Many rushed to her comment section to congratulate her with Musa, writing “Congrats” with a hands-up emoji. And both Enyeama and Babajide reacted with a clapping emoji.

Paris FC goalie, who captained Randy Waldrum’s troops all through the 2023 FIFA’s Women’s World Cup tournament, gave a one-word verdict referring to her as “Legend”.

Ebi concluded her stint with Spain’s Levante Les Planas late last year, making just one appearance for the Spanish club.

After not playing any club matches since 2022 and with five appearances for the Super Falcons under coach Randy Waldrum, Ebi decided to return to club football.

Ebi’s decision to rejoin the NWFL goes beyond football, and her experience and leadership qualities are expected to have a significant impact on the Naija Ratels team.

As the first African footballer to play in five World Cup tournaments, she will wear jersey number 5 for the team, commencing a new chapter in her football career.
