2023 Ballon d’Or: ‘Grateful’ Rema reacts to lighting the stage with Mbappe, Haaland, Messi, Drogba, others in attendance

Rema recently performed at the 2023 Ballon d’Or award with the likes of Lionel Messi, Didier Drogba, Jude Bellingham and a host of others in attendance

Nigerian artiste, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, is filled with gratitude as he looks back on his exceptional performance at the recently concluded 2023 Ballon d’Or awards, Soccernet.ng reports.

The prestigious event, held in Paris, celebrated the accomplishments of footballers in their club and national team roles during the 2022-23 season campaign.

Rema, known for his hit song “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez, has captured the hearts of music lovers worldwide. He delighted the audience, which included football stars, with his performance in Paris.

Expressing his thankfulness for the unique opportunity for a Nigerian artist to perform at such a high level, the “Dumebi” crooner took to his X (Formerly Twitter) platform.

“Afrobeat in Ballon d’Or! I’m truly grateful for the opportunity. Glory to the most high for the grace.” he wrote.

During his performance, Rema was seen exchanging greetings with football luminaries like Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, and other prominent figures at the event.

Notably, celebrities in attendance like Didier Drogba, Lionel Messi, Novak Djokovic were all in attendance listening to Rema’s music.

His performance at the 2023 Ballon d’Or adds to his growing list of high-profile appearances, aligning him with other notable Nigerian artists like Davido and Burna Boy who have graced similar global stages.
