‘Victor Boniface with a fan’ – Bayer Leverkusen aim dig at Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane

Victor Boniface is only the third player after Paco Alcacer and Erling Haaland to have made 6 goal contributions in their first three Bundesliga games

Bayer Leverkusen have taken to social media to throw a dig at former Tottenham and current Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane as the predicted battle for this season’s league top scorer award between the Englishman and Victor Boniface continues to gather momentum, Soccernet.ng reports.

It has been predicted that the two newcomers to the Bundesliga will have a hot battle between them for this season’s top scorer award.

Kane moved to Bayern Munich last month for a fee of around £100 million, while Boniface joined Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League side Royale Saint-Gilliose for one-fifth of the Englishman transfer fee.

The two elite forwards went head to head in a top-of-the-table clash between the two early pacesetters in this new Bundesliga season last Friday and it was Kane who won the battle having opened the scoring in a 2-2 draw while Boniface fired blank.

After four rounds of games, Kane and Boniface have scored 4 goals each, but the Nigerian forward is leading in assists with 2 compared to the Englishman’s 1.

Leverkusen are still ahead of the Bavarians on the table with goal difference, having both won 3 matches each and drawn 1 after four rounds of games.

The Die werkself have now taken to their X account to taunt the former Tottenham Hotspur hitman.

‘Victor Boniface with a fan’ Bayer posted on their X account accompanied by a photo of Boniface with Harry Kane, in what appears to be a clear taunt at the Bayern Munich striker.

Boniface will be aiming to regain his goalscoring form when Leverkusen host Swedish side Hacken in the first game of this season’s Europa League at the Bay Arena on Thursday.
