Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon was in his best form as he scored a goal and bagged two assists as Nantes defeated Lorient 5-3 in Saturday’s Ligue game at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 28-year-old, who was making his sixth appearance, had a decent display for the Yellow House.
In the 6th minute, Lorient took the lead Eli Kroupi Jr before Simon made his first involvement in the game with an assist for French forward Mattis Abline that restored parity for the home side.
Just a minute after the interval, Swiss defender Eray Comert gave Nantes the lead before Mostafa Mohamed extended their advantage to 3-1with in the 55th minute. However, Faivre reduced the deficit with a quarter of an hour to play before Mollet scored a brilliant goal to restore the home side’s two-goal lead thanks to another assist from Simon.
Tosin Aiyegun netted for Lorient in the 85th minute to give the away side a lifeline, but Simon put the game to bed when he netted a penalty to all but end any comeback from Lorient.
After the win, Nantes are now 6th on the table, after claiming back-to-back victories following their first four winless games.
Simon has now registered 2 goals and 3 assists from 6 games he has played so far this season.
