Teremas Terem Igobor Moffi opened his Ligue 1 goalscoring account for the new season after a brilliant finish to secure OGC Nice’s win over Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian striker scored nine goals in twenty games after joining OGC Nice on loan from SC Lorient between January and May 2023, and has finally kicked off with proper business this season. The twenty-four-year-old previously set up a goal for his teammate in his sides 1-1 draw to four-time-league- champions, Lille, but didn’t see the back of the net up until today. Nice’s goal-scoring right wing-back, Yousef Atal, opened the scoring for the home side just before the end of the first half and Terem Moffi completed the job in the second half.
The second goal came in the seventy fifth minute when a through ball from Manchester United target, Jean Claire Todibo A sent Moffi through on goal, and the Nigerian showed precision, resilience, pace and power after he ran through, and cool sent the ball into the back of the net to seal his side’s 2-0 win.
Moffi’s first league goal of the season gives OGC Nice their first league win of the season, meaning they now have six points from a win and three draws.
