Bundesliga: Super Eagles star Victor Boniface names three factors that make Bayer Leverkusen outstanding

The Nigerian forward was at the double on Sunday afternoon to help Xabi Alonso’s men maintain their unbeaten run

Victor Boniface has revealed the secret behind Bayer Leverkusen’s brilliant start to the Bundesliga season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Bayer Leverkusen collected their fourth league win of the campaign after forcing a 4-1 defeat down the throat of Heidenheim at the BayerArena on Sunday.

Xabi Alonso’s men remain undefeated after five games, with only a draw away to champions Bayern Munich the only dent on their record.

Apart from the victories, Bayer Leverkusen have played some of the most exciting attacking football in the country, with their 17 goals only bettered by Bayern’s 18.

Boniface has accounted for over a quarter of that haul, with the 22-year-old adding a fine brace against Heidenheim.

The Nigeria international acknowledges that Xabi Alonso’s men are a decent side, and he highlights three factors that make them tick.

“We have a very good team,” Boniface said at the end of the match on Sunday.

“I think the key is a mixture of our hunger for success, the joy of playing and above all, the willingness to work very hard. That’s what makes us stand out!”

In an outstanding start to life in Germany, Boniface now has eight goals and three assists in his first seven games.

The former Union Saint Gilloise was named the Bundesliga Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month for August, and he has shown no signs of slowing down.

With the Super Eagles striker on fire, many watchers of the German elite division are already tipping Leverkusen as the biggest challenger for Bayern Munich’s crown.
