Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen sets sights on another Nigerian star to team up with Victor Boniface

Following Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Manchester United, another forward is finding himself in the sights of Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen

German Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen, are considering a move for Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, to bolster their attack for the upcoming season campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to reports from Italy, the talented forward from Atalanta, has become a market target for Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen, and could be on his way to Germany if the German side are able to meet the demands of the Bergamo-based club.

Recent reports suggest that direct contact has been established between the German club, often referred to as Aspirin, and Atalanta, indicating the growing interest in the Nigerian attacker.

The forward Leicester forward, born in 1997, had a remarkable season with Atalanta, emerging as a key player with 33 overall appearances, during which he netted 15 goals and provided eight assists.

His impressive performances have caught the attention of the Bay Arena outfit, prompting them to explore the possibility of bringing the English striker to Germany.

As negotiations progress, Bayer could be formulating an enticing offer to secure the signature of the Nigerian international.

The move would see him join forces with another Nigerian compatriot, Victor Boniface, who recently made the switch to the German side from Union SG this summer.

The potential transfer would be a significant step in Lookman’s footballing journey, taking him to the highly competitive and prestigious Bundesliga.

The Nigerian’s track record in the Serie A has demonstrated his prowess and versatility on the field, and Leverkusen seems eager to capitalize on his talent to strengthen their attacking options.
