West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Porto locked in 3-way talks for Super Eagles ace

In a bid to fortify their left-back positions, Premier League clubs West Ham United and Nottingham Forest have entered into discussions with Porto’s defensive stalwart, Zaidu Sanusi, Soccernet.ng reports.

This latest development was revealed by 90min, as they reported on their website on Friday, August 25th.

The competition for these two clubs’ respective starting left-back spots – currently occupied by Emerson for West Ham and Ola Aina for Nottingham Forest – has prompted them to explore the possibility of securing the services of the 26-year-old Nigerian international Sanusi.

Despite having a solid four years remaining on his contract with Portuguese giants Porto, the Hammers and Forest are actively pursuing a potential deal with the talented defender.

Sanusi’s journey with Porto began in 2020 when he made a €4 million switch from Santa Clara.

His contributions have played a pivotal role in Porto’s recent successes, including clinching the Portuguese league title last year, as well as triumphs in the Taça de Portugal on two occasions and this year’s Taça da Liga.

Boasting an impressive tally of 114 appearances in various competitions for Porto, Sanusi has showcased not only his defensive prowess but also his ability to contribute offensively, netting six goals and providing one assist.

It is worth noting that despite the considerable duration remaining on his contract, Porto is not categorically ruling out the possibility of Sanusi’s departure.

The club is already keeping tabs on another promising Nigerian defender, Bruno Onyemaechi of Boavista. If Sanusi were to secure a move away, Porto is expected to pursue Onyemaechi as a potential replacement.
