The Super Eagles striker just left Al Hilal for Al Wehda this summer, and he has started showing his prowess
Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo scored his first goal for Al Wehda just five minutes into his debut for the club in their 3-0 victory over Al Taee in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, Soccernet reports.
Ighalo left Saudi giants Al Hilal for league rivals Al Taee this summer after 17 productive months that saw him register 43 goals and seven assists in 60 appearances.
The former Manchester United man finally got his first minutes for the club when they played Al Taee at the Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musa’ed Stadium.
Al Wehda already established a two-goal lead after 62 minutes after goals from Faycal Fajr and Saeed Al Muwallad. Ighalo, who started from the bench, was introduced into the game in the 86th minute for Hussein Al Eisa, and the Nigerian needed just five minutes to show his new employers his goalscoring prowess.
The 34-year-old striker received a pass from Fajr in the box, and with just one defender in front of him, he took a nice touch to set the ball and sent a precise finish into the top left corner of the Al Taee goal.
His sublime finish ensured the game ended 3-0 for Al Wehda. With his goal, Ighalo could start for his side when they welcomed Al Ittihad on Monday.
