Nottingham Forest are in the market for a left-back and have picked interest in another Nigerian international
Nottingham Forest have been busy in the transfer market, making at least five strays, and have identified Nigerian full-back, Zaidu Sanusi as their next target, Soccernet.ng reports.
Porto left-back, Zaidu Sanusi has caught the eyes of the Nottingham Forest hierarchy, and as per Portuguese outlet, O JOGO, the two-time UEFA Champions League winners want the Nigerian to make the left full-back position his own.
Zaidu is currently in his fourth season at the Estadio de Dragão, racking up a hundred and fourteen appearances for the Portugues giants, and scoring six goals since joining from Santa Clara in 2020.
The twenty-six-year-old has fifteen appearances for the Super Eagles after making his debut in 2020 in a 1-0 loss to Algeria.
Nottingham are in the transfer market in search of a left-back and even picked interest in former Marseille and Portugal international, but the move never materialized.
This summer, the Red have reinforced their full-back options, signing Ola Aina, and Argentine World Cup Winner, Gonzalo Montiel.
With Serge Aurier, Neco Williams, Giulian Biancone, Harry Toffolo and Omar Richards as full-back options, Nottingham are stacked and a move for Zaidu Sanusi would possibly mean one of these players would make a move away from the club, on loan or on a permanent transfer.
Nottingham Forest are preparing an initial proposal of about fifteen million euros, including add-ons, and believe their offer should be enough to secure the services of the Nigerian International.
If the transfer is successful, Sanusi would join Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, and Emmanuel Dennis as international compatriots at the club.
