‘They play good football’-Nigerian midfielder who departed Belgium to join One-time Swedish Champions reveals

Super Eagles hopeful, Ishaq Abdulrazaq has departed Belgium to join Swedish side and is keen to prove himself as soon as possible.

Former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Ishaq Abdulrazak, who departed Anderlecht on loan to join one-time Swedish Champions, Bollklubben Häcken, popularly called BK Häcken, has given reasons behind his move, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 21-year-old joined Anderlecht just last summer on a four-year deal but he is on his way to Swedish side, Bollklubben Häcken after he was left out of Anderlechts pre-season tour in Australia. He stayed back home and returned sick.

It was also widely reported that he had fallen out of favour with the coach, as he is not included in the coach’s plans for the upcoming season, and a loan move was sought, so the midfielder can play in a team that suits him, and so that he can get the playing time he warrants.

BK Häcken’s loan offer is a season-long loan, and both sides involved in the deal have expressed delight after coming to a conclusion. Announced on the club’s official website, BK Häcken’s sporting director, Martin Ericsson said;

“In Ishaq, we get a recognized skilled footballer with both width and edge. He is useful in many positions, although we primarily see him as a central midfielder. He is a player who fits well into our football philosophy.”

The midfielder accounted for two goals and seven assists between 2020 and 2022 in 54 Allsvenskan matches, while playing for IFK Norrköping in Sweden, also expressed his delight after joining and reasons behind his move.

“I will do my best and give a hundred percent. I have seen several matches from Belgium. BK Häcken plays very good football and I look forward to being a part of it. They played fantastically last year, and this year as well. They play very nice football, like tiki-taka. So much of that makes it good football for me. I want to take part in it and then we will continue with it, I think.” he said.

Speaking on his ambition for the team and how he feels about European nights, Ishaq added,

“We drive hard as a team. I hope we win it all. As for the European matches, many people watch, it’s fun to play, and it’s fun for the supporters who support the team.”

The only thing hindering Ishaq from getting started right away is getting his work permit, which will be sorted out in little to no time.
