The Nigeria international only joined the Italian giants a few days ago, but he has already found a friend in one of the most valuable players in Serie A
In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, Portugal forward Rafa Leao has warmly welcomed AC Milan’s latest signing, Samuel Chukwueze, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian winger joined the Italian club from Villarreal in a notable transfer deal worth 28 million euros, with additional bonuses adding to the excitement.
Chukwueze’s enthusiasm to get started with his new team was evident as he wasted no time in hitting the ground running.
Signing his contract, he immediately headed to the Rossoneri sports center for solo training while the rest of the Milan team were busy on their American tour.
However, the team made its return to Italy over the weekend, marking Chukwueze’s chance to train with his new teammates for the very first time on Sunday morning.
During this introductory training session, Chukwueze quickly struck up an instant friendship with talented Portuguese superstar Leao.
The duo’s connection was highlighted when Leao shared a photo of the two on his Instagram story early on Monday morning with the caption, “Welcome, my bro. Let’s kill them.”
It is worth noting that Leao is renowned for being a formidable tormentor of defenders in the Italian top flight, having played a pivotal role in Milan’s Scudetto triumph in 2022.
Unfortunately, despite Leao’s outstanding efforts during the 2022/2023 season, Milan’s title defence came to a halt, with Victor Osimhen propelling Napoli to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
Nonetheless, with the arrival of Chukwueze, Leao and the Milan squad are hopeful of reclaiming the coveted title from Napoli in the upcoming season.
