Leeds United, currently on the hunt for a new striker, have been urged to revive their interest in Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, Soccernet.ng reports.
The club, having suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, has begun its Championship journey with two draws and a defeat, emphasizing the pressing need for a potent attacker.
As per the recommendation of MOT, Leeds must secure Iheanacho’s signature promptly.
Notably, last September, The Athletic’s Phil Hay revealed that the Whites had contemplated a move for the Nigerian striker.
This time around, the urgency is even greater, and with Leicester City’s relegation, an opportunity has arisen for Leeds to make a move.
Iheanacho has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace.
His contract with Leicester City expires at the end of the current campaign.
Despite being named Leicester’s Player of the Year (POTY) last season, he has shown reluctance to extend his stay and is open to a return to the Premier League.
Leeds United’s existing strikers have yet to find the back of the net this season, making Iheanacho an attractive prospect to bolster their attacking options.
The former Manchester City forward boasts an impressive Premier League track record, with 42 goals and 28 assists in 196 top-flight appearances.
While he has not scored in three Championship outings for Leicester, his proven ability suggests he could be a valuable asset for Leeds if he hits his stride.

Why on Earth would Iheanacho go to Leeds? Nonsensical piece! If he goes anywhere it will be to a top league side.
