Did Asake’s London concert create the perfect team bonding for Super Eagles’ Awoniyi, Moses, Bassey, Aribo, others?

Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, achieved a new milestone with his sold-out concert at London’s 02 Arena

Nigerian music star, who is as well the rave of the moment and YBNL’s latest global export, Ahmed Ololade, Asake, unlocked a new level in his sold-out concert at the 02 Arena in London.

Notably, players from the Nigerian men’s national team, including Taiwo Awoniyi, Simon Moses, Emmanuel Dennis, Calvin Bassey, and Joe Aribo, were present at the event, showcasing the growing intersection of music and sports.

Despite their affiliations with English Premier League clubs, apart from Simon Moses, who plays in France’s Ligue 1, the players’ attendance highlights the increasing influence of music on the world of sports.

In the past, it has been reported that the Nottingham Forest star met Nigerian mega-artist Olamide during his debut season at Nottingham, which may have led to establishing a relationship with Asake’s boss.

To express his love for Olamide and the YBNL artist currently making waves, he might have however opted to travel for the event and attend the performance.

This connection likely motivated the player’s attendance at the event, expressing their admiration for Olamide’s work.

Watch the video of Awoniyi vibing to Asake’s song:

While this bond might not be the central theme of the feature, the image of Nigerian Super Eagles stars coming together to support their compatriot is heartening.

It’s important to note that the Super Eagles secured their place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tourney after triumphing over Sierra Leone in match-day five of the AFCON qualifiers. Their qualification guarantees their participation in the tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

With a match left, the players are set to gather in less than three weeks to face São Tomé and Príncipe, marking the final game of the AFCON qualifiers.

However, the unity displayed by Dennis, Awoniyi, Bassey, and others at Asake’s concert enhances team bonding and demonstrates their unwavering support for their fellow countryman.

As they gear up to take on the African island nation, the connection forged at the concert will likely contribute to their collective strength.

The Super Eagles aim to build on their previous success against the Leone Stars as they prepare to face São Tomé on September 17th in Uyo.
