Contract talks: Napoli’s Osimhen gives verdict amid interests from Al Hilal

Nigerian attacker, Victor Osimhen blast in two goals as Napoli kicks off their 2023-24 Serie A campaign

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has confirmed that he is currently engaged in discussions with Napoli regarding a potential contract extension, Soccernet.ng reports.

Previous reports had revealed that despite the ongoing talks, no final agreement has been reached between the player’s camp and the club.

Osimhen’s existing contract with Napoli has less than two years remaining, and he has recently been the subject of transfer speculation linking him to various European clubs.

It should be noted that there has been an expression of interest from Saudi Arabia Professional Football League side Al Hilal for the talented striker.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Osimhen openly acknowledged the presence of offers from other sources.

However, the Nigerian international however emphasized that his primary focus is on negotiations with Napoli.

“There was a lot of speculation which is true. The president is the boss. We are still negotiating [the new contract],

“We’ll see at the end of the transfer window. For now, I am a Napoli player which is the most important thing.

“I will give my heart and soul to this team as I’ve always done in the past. We’ll see what happens.” Osimhen told DAZN, as quoted by TuttoNapoli.

During Napoli’s campaign opener against Frosinone, the 24-year-old forward showcased his prowess by scoring a brace, contributing significantly to the team’s 3-1 victory.

He will be looking to continue his impressive performance for the Gli Azzurri as the contract negotiations continue between his camp and his club.
