WATCH: Fit-again Sadiq Umar scores pretty goal for Real Sociedad in pre-season

Sadiq Umar has been out of action for months, but he seems to have gotten his mojo back

Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar scored a pretty chip for Real Sociedad in a pre-season training game on Saturday, Soccernet reports.

Umar sustained a nasty knee ligament injury in September 2022 during Real Sociedad’s Laliga fixture against Getafe. This kept the 26-year-old striker out of action for the remainder of last season.

However, he returned to training in May, just before the end of the season. Despite returning to Nigeria, Umar spent his summer break getting back into shape before pre-season.

The former Almeria man has joined full training with his teammates at Real Sociedad, and he has been quite impressive so far.

The club is yet to begin their pre-season friendly games, but in the meantime, they have been sparring against each other. And in one of these games, Umar scored a beautiful goal.

Umar received a pass from Braiz Mendez and struck a precise chip past the goalkeeper, who was rushing to block the ball.

Real Sociedad have a tough season ahead. They will participate in the Champions League for the first time in nine years. As such, coach Imanol Alguacil would hope that his players can click fast enough.

Umar failed to prove his ability in his first season because of his injury. However, he would look to show the same brilliance he showed at Almeria.
