Watch: Nigerian sensation with Premier League admiration offers helping hand to injured opponent

Gift Orban has taken the limelight in Nigeria’s football space after an impressive outing for Gent last season

Nigeria’s promising striker, Gift Orban, has revealed his pleasing attitude by helping an injured opponent out of the pitch on his back in his club’s latest pre-season game, Soccernet.ng reports

Orban, who took European football by storm last season, has continued to showcase his goalscoring skills, netting in almost all his club’s recent pre-season games.

The 20-year-old has so far been enjoying his time in Belgium, as evidenced by his excellent rate of goal scored per game, contributing largely to his team’s success since moving from Norway in January 2023.

He became an overnight sensation last season when he netted an astonishing three goals in just 205 seconds of his club’s UEFA Conference League round of 16 second-leg tie, helping his club to the last eight of the Europe third-tier competition.

Despite his remarkable outing for his club last season, he was overlooked by the Super Eagles’ head Jose Peseiro for the country’s recent African Cup Of Nations qualifying match against Sierra Leone.

However, the 20-year-old with admiration for the English Premier League has continued to show why he would be admired by football fans for a long time, as evidenced by the assistance he rendered to an opponent in his club’s recent pre-season game played in the Netherlands.

In a video shared on Gent’s Instagram page that has delighted football lovers, Orban was seen carrying an injured opponent on his back out of the pitch due to the lack of enough medical officials for the friendly game.

The Nigerian forward scored twice as the Belgian club ran out a comfortable 1-6 victory over their opponent, one of his goals was a beautiful freekick from outside the box, while the other was a chip-in over the goalkeeper, as the club continued their preparations ahead of the new season.

Peseiro has touted Orban as a player to be among the national team setup in the coming years due to his excellent goalscoring skills.
