Victor Osimhen: Chelsea, PSG and Man United target reveals music rituals that inspire his winning mindset

The Super Eagles star was excellent for Luciano Spalletti’s men in the 2022-23 season campaign scoring 26 domestic league goals

Super Eagles star and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, recently shared insights into his pre-match rituals and the music that fuels his winning mindset, Soccernet.ng reports.

In an exclusive interview with Soccernet.ng, Osimhen, who has piqued the interest of Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and others, disclosed the music artists and songs that inspire and motivate him before important football matches.

Osimhen, known for his remarkable performances on the field, revealed his pre-match routine, which includes moments of relaxation and reflection before team meetings. “First of all, after lunch, we would relax for like 2 to 3 hours before the final meeting to get into the stadium,” Osimhen said.

During this period, he turns to the rap music of Nigerian artist Olamide for inspiration. Osimhen expressed his admiration for Olamide, labeling him as his best musician in Nigeria.

The young football sensation believes that certain rap songs by Olamide carry a deep sense of inspiration, motivating him to give his best on the field.

He explained: “There are some kinds of raps he has done in the years that are really inspirational to me.”

Additionally, Osimhen emphasized the importance of prayer in his routine. Just before team meetings, he takes a moment to say his prayers, seeking guidance and strength before stepping onto the pitch.

However, it is during the bus ride with the team, en route to the match venue, that Osimhen indulges in the music of Nas and Damian Marley. The song that resonates with him the most is “Strong Will Continue.”

Osimhen explained, “When I listened to these songs, I always thought I was going to war. It’s not like I am going there to die or someone will die. But I feel like ‘only the strong survive’ means I want to win. I don’t want to lose.”

It is safe to say that Osimhen’s outstanding performance was crucial for Napoli’s Serie A title success by notching 26 goals out of the Gli Azzurri’s goal total.
