Transfer: Everton forward Alex Iwobi not for sale despite transfer links

The Super Eagles attacker, whose time on Merseyside is running out, was crucial in the Toffees’ effort to stay out of relegating to the second division

Football transfer reporter, Dean Jones, provides insight on Alex Iwobi’s transfer situation amid speculation of a move away from Everton in this summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian midfielder, whose contract with the Toffees is set to expire, has been linked with several European clubs.

However, Jones suggests that Iwobi is viewed as a key player by manager Sean Dyche and may not be sold, but rather have his contract extended.

Dean Jones speaking to Give Me Sport revealed that the Super Eagles is a key figure in Dyche’s squad and would not be sold in this summer transfer window.

“The same goes for Alex Iwobi to be honest, he is one they want as an instrumental figure in the team and while there have been a couple of reports suggesting he will be available in this window, I do not believe that to be the case.” he said.

Despite interest from Premier League and European clubs due to his contributions in Everton’s battle against relegation, Dyche has dismissed any notion of Iwobi leaving Goodison Park, stating that the Nigerian attacker is content with the club.

Under Dyche’s guidance, Iwobi has made a notable impact at Everton, and the club is determined to retain him for the upcoming season.

However, as of now, no concrete offers have been made for the player, leaving his future at Goodison Park uncertain.
