Awaziem spent last season on loan at Hajduk Split in the Croatian top flight, playing a significant role in their campaign.
During his time at Hajduk Split, the 26-year-old star showcased his defensive prowess and offensive contributions. In 28 league games, Awaziem netted an impressive five goals and even provided an assist.
His five goals helped him set a new record for the highest-scoring defender in Hajduk Split’s history within the Croatian top flight.
Furthermore, Awaziem played a pivotal role as Hajduk Split clinched the Croatian Cup, securing their eighth title in the competition’s history. His performances undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the team’s success.

Consequently, the Nigerian defender has returned to Boavista, where he is expected to participate in the club’s preseason program.
In addition to Awaziem, Boavista eagerly await the arrival of another Super Eagles newcomer, Bruno Onyemaechi, as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Awaziem initially joined Boavista on loan from Porto in 2020 before making his move permanent in 2021 for a fee of €5 million.
As he begins his preseason preparations with Boavista, Awaziem will aim to continue his impressive performances and contribute to his club’s success in the upcoming campaign.
