Taiwo Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest last summer after leaving Union Berlin, and he was a key factor in the team’s ability to avoid relegation
Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi, has revealed that he will miss former Manchester United star, Jesse Lingard, who has left the City Ground, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Tricky Trees earlier announced the former England player as one of the players who will be leaving the club after their contracts expire.
Awoniyi, who has severally been spotted with the Englishman, has revealed how friendly the 33-year-old is, and he will miss his vibes in the dressing room, and his easy-going attitude.
Despite West Ham’s interest, the former Manchester United star signed with Forest. Although The Reds were able to stay in the Premier League, Lingard’s move didn’t work out.
While at West Bridgford, Lingard has severally been spotted being taught the Nigerian Pidgin-English by the Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis, dancing to songs by Nigerian artists, and as well taking pictures with the Nigerian Flag.
Awoniyi, speaking to Soccernet.ng in an exclusive interview, has revealed that he is going to miss the vibes he has brought on and off the dressing room.
“To be honest, I think he is someone we are going to really miss because we all see just only the weekends. But imagine being the club that we all have turned families. We see each other everyday, so he is no more like just a friend. For me, this is how I see it, because you have to see the same person everyday, consistently for maybe one year or thereabout, and the same goes for him.
“For me, I used to call him a big player because he is a big player, because of what he has done and with what he is doing. And with the vibes he brings. He used to call me and [Emmanuel] Dennis ‘My Super Eagle’. He is just someone that is fun to be with, very easy, very friendly, and this is the part where I personally will miss about him because he is someone that really took everyone closer to him” he said.

Lingard, who is currently a free agent, has been linked with several clubs, which include an offer from Saudi League, and a rumoured move to Inter Miami, of which he has revealed that he is not ruling out a move to any club.
Whichever way the transfer situation will play out for the British player, the football world awaits a move for the former Nottingham forward.
