“Fake News”- Super Falcons’ midfielder blasts media for remarks on Coach Waldrum’s performance

Super Falcons and Levante forward has debunked reports claiming the current coach isn’t as tactically astute as other local Nigerian coaches…

Super Falcons midfielder, Ngozi Okobi has denied claims flying around on Randy Waldrum’s capabilities as the coach of the Super Falcons, soccernet.ng reports.

Speculations spread around the nation after Waldrum left the Levante forward out of his provisional world-cup squad, despite Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde missing Australia’s first two group-stage games.

It was mentioned that Ngozi revealed that there are better coaches than the American tactician, and he is not superior to local Nigerian coaches.

She has, however, gone on record to clarify that she did not make any of those statements and has threatened to take legal action should anyone continue to push a false narrative that she said anything of that nature.

”I have not and will not make any public statements on the Women’s World Cup squad team, until a final decision, which is irreversible, has been taken. In the light of the above, I advise whoever peddling such falsehood to desist or be ready to face legal actions.” she wrote.

The Super Falcons kick off their tournament on the 21st of July, taking Canada on in what could be a pivotal fixture at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Australia.

  • I don't know why Nigeria sport journalists are this bad. If you don't like these foreign coaches, must you go all the way out to defame them? I sorry to say these: local coaches are not that good:
    Austin Eguaveon
    Salisu Yusuf
    etc
If they are so good, these foreign coaches wouldn't be taking their jobs.
Missing 2022 World Cup is still fresh in our memory!!!?!

  • Nigerian journalists should report correctly. Thank GOD Okobi has clarified the situation. And secondly, Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde will miss ONLY the first game against Canada. They'll both be available for the second game against Australia. Please Nigerian journalists, CORRECT YOURSELVES!!!
