“Among the three or four best in the world” – Ex-Crystal Palace star rates Nigeria’s MVP

Former Juventus and Napoli striker, Michele Padovano, has declared his belief that Nigerian star Victor Osimhen ranks among the three or four best players in the world, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen’s stellar performances have earned him the title of Nigeria’s Most Valuable Player, with his goals propelling Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

As Osimhen’s stock continues to soar, top European clubs are vying for his signature, and Napoli is bracing for offers exceeding €150 million.

Padovano, however, is convinced that the Nigerian sensation is worth every penny and more.

During a discussion on “1 Football Club,” aired on 1 Station Radio (as per Tutto Napoli), the former footballer from Crystal Palace ace shared his perspective.

When asked about the right price for Osimhen in today’s inflated transfer market, Padovano didn’t hesitate: “From what one sees around, he is a player worth €150 million or more, absolutely.

“He has showcased all his qualities both in Italy and Europe, establishing himself as an amazing player who can dominate the game. Currently, he is among the three or four best players in the world.”

With the spotlight on Osimhen’s future, questions arise about potential replacements at Napoli.

One name that surfaces is Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.

On this subject, Padovano was equally effusive: “Absolutely, yes. Vlahovic is another player I admire, possessing great physical strength and excellent technique.

“He just needs to be in the right position to score goals, something that hasn’t always happened for him this season.

“Both Osimhen and Vlahovic are excellent strikers, and the Serbian could be an outstanding alternative to the Nigerian.”

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have already made a €100 million bid for Osimhen, which Napoli rejected.

As PSG’s negotiations with Kylian Mbappe seem to be heading towards his departure, the French champions could potentially renew their pursuit of Osimhen.
